A set of four witchcraft coasters featuring strange, atmospheric scenes inspired by early European woodcuts and old folklore illustrations.
Each coaster has a different black-and-cream design, created in the deliberately primitive style of early printed woodcuts, with crooked figures, rough carved lines and the wonderfully peculiar imagery associated with historic witchcraft folklore.
The four designs feature:
- Witches flying on broomsticks while a devilish figure lurks below
- Witches gathered around a table with a mischievous little demon
- Witches performing a ritual around a circle
- Witches brewing around a cauldron beneath a twisted tree
The designs are new artwork inspired by historic woodcut illustration, rather than reproductions of antique prints.
Together they make an unusual set for anyone interested in witches, folklore, medieval and early modern imagery, gothic interiors or the stranger side of history.
